Your first search & chat

The two things you will do most in Kaizen are find something and ask about it. Here is the quickest path through both.

Open Kaizen from Kamiwaza, or open its app link directly. If you are signed out, Kaizen sends you through Kamiwaza sign-in and returns you to the Kaizen page you asked for. You use your existing account — there is no separate password.

To leave, open your profile at the bottom of the rail and choose Sign out. Kaizen hides your workspace immediately while Kamiwaza completes sign-out. Your administrator may also set an inactivity limit; Kaizen warns you before it signs you out. If no Kaizen limit is set, your Kamiwaza session decides when sign-in is needed again.

  1. Click Search in the rail, or press ⌘K (Ctrl-K on Windows and Linux) and choose Search from the command palette.
  2. Type a question or a few keywords — plain language works ("how do I request VPN access").
  3. Results come back as source cards: a title, the source it came from, and a matching snippet.
  4. Click a card to open a preview and read the surrounding context without leaving Kaizen.

Search is fast because it does not run a language model — it retrieves and ranks the best-matching sources and hands them straight to you.

Start a chat

When you want an actual answer rather than a list of sources:

  1. Click New session (or Chat) in the rail.
  2. Ask in natural language. The assistant retrieves relevant sources, reasons over them, and writes an answer.
  3. Watch the answer stream in. Claims carry inline citations — click one to jump to the source it came from.
  4. Ask a follow-up. The conversation keeps its context, so you can dig in without repeating yourself.
tip

You can type while the assistant is still working to steer it — add a constraint or redirect it mid-answer instead of waiting and starting over.

Save and come back

  • Chats in the rail keeps your conversation history so you can pick up where you left off.
  • Projects group related chats without copying them or changing direct shares. Create a Project, start or add a chat, then reopen the same chat from either Projects or Chats.
  • Documents lets you upload a file and ask questions grounded in it, privately.
  • Collections let you group sources together and reuse them to focus future searches and chats.

Where to go next

That is the whole loop: search to find, chat to understand, and save what is worth keeping.
